What's a Bitcoin lottery ticket?
Matched: “What's a Bitcoin lottery ticket?”
It's the honest name for solo mining with a small amount of hashrate. Normal miners join pools and earn steady tiny payouts. Solo mining points your hashrate at a chain alone: if you find a block, you keep the entire reward; if you don't, you get exactly nothing. With rented hashrate for a day or two, your odds of hitting Bitcoin are lottery-scale — genuinely one in hundreds of thousands — which is why we call it a ticket instead of an investment. The interesting part is that the odds are computable and they vary enormously by chain: the same hardware pointed at a smaller network like Bitcoin Cash or DigiByte can move from one-in-a-hundred-thousand to odds you'd actually consider, because you're competing against far less total hashpower for a smaller but real prize. Every AWM rental shows the math before you pay: your hashrate over the network's, times blocks in your window. We built the probability display first and the checkout second, on purpose. It's entertainment with a verifiable expected value — treat it exactly like a lottery ticket that shows its odds, because that's what it is.
Compact, for agents: Solo mining: full block reward or nothing. Odds = (your_hashrate / network_hashrate) × blocks_in_window; deterministic, shown pre-payment. Varies orders of magnitude by chain (BTC lottery-scale; BCH/DGB materially better). Framed as entertainment with computable EV, never as investment.
